Album: Trippie Redd – Pegasus (Zip File)
Pegasus is Ohio rapper Trippie Redd’s third studio album and his planned next project following the deluxe edition of his November 2019 release, A Love Letter To You 4.
He later detailed the album in-depth on April 2 in an interview with Lyrical Lemonade, saying
The direction on the album is supposed to feel mystical. Like dreamy, nostalgic, outer space. Everything is gonna feel like some off-the-wall fairy tale type shit. For example, I got songs on there called “Pink Pixie Dust”, a self-titled song “Pegasus”, a song named “Fairy Tales”, a song named “The Milky Way.” It’s all going in that direction. “Love Scars 4” will be on this album too.
On April 23, Trippie announced on his own Instagram livestream that the album will release when he turns 21 years old, meaning the project will release on or after June 18, his birthday.
After being teased for the first time in April, the album’s lead singe, “Excitement” with PARTYNEXTDOOR, was released on May 15.
In an Instagram Livestream on June 13, Trippie gave a lot of information about the album; He confirmed it would have 25 tracks, and be split up into three genres/sections: “love,” “deep,” and hard.“ He also confirmed the deluxe to be Neon Shark, his long-awaited rock album.
On June 18, after the release of the album’s second lead single, “Dreamer,” Trippie detailed the concept of the album in interview with HipHopNMore, saying:
The symbolism of the Pegasus is, someone being a ride or die, whether it’s a girl, or your homies or whoever, that’s the ideal message between Pegasus. It’s like going through vibes of ride or die scenarios with you, or your homies or your girl, whatever. But that’s the whole balance between the term. That’s what it’s about.
On August 18, 2020, the album fully leaked, and in retaliation, Trippie complained about the frequent leaks on Instagram Live, but promised he would still be dropping the album officially later in the year, with possible changes to the tracklist.
